Vaccine Forecast Summary
The Vaccine Forecast Summary
The first page of the report is dedicated to the vaccine forecast summary which provides an overview of the status of each vaccine group, organized by status. Badges on the groups and individual vaccine series enable the provider to quickly understand the vaccination status of the patient, including:
- What vaccines are due at the current visit.
- What additonal vaccines should be considered based on shared decision-making and special circumstance.
- What vaccines are due in the future for immunization planning.
- Which vaccine series have been completed or are otherwise not recommended for the patient.
Badge Color Coding
Consistent badging and color-coding are used throughout the report.
GREEN The vaccine series is complete.
BLUE For consideration at current visit: recommended or conditionally recommended.
TEAL Vaccine due at a future date.
GREY Vaccine is not indicated for the patient or the patient has aged out of the series.
Footnotes
There are three footnote symbols that may appear on the Forecst Summary.
N - Indicates there are forecast notes which are displayed immediately after the Forecast Summary.
D - Duplicate doses were detected in the series and are listed at the end of the report.
- Series has invalid doses which should be verified before administration.
The Forecast Summary Groups
The Forecast Summary is grouped into four sections based on the recommended action.

- Recommended group: Vaccines due now.
- Future group: This group lists the next dose for any incomplete series due in the future.
- Conditional group: Any vaccines which are conditionally recommended based on shared decision-making or high risk groups.
- Not recommended group: Completed series or series for which the patient has aged-out.
- Jump to vaccine series: Clicking this hyperlink will navigate to the specific series in the Vacine Series Grid.
Forecast Group: Recommended
This group displays any vaccines due as of the evaluation date. Two separate examples are shown below.

- Vaccine due now. If an "administer before" date is applicable to the dose, it will be displayed here. This is the date upon which the dose will be considered past due.
- Past-due recommendation. Date the dose became past-due is displayed. If a catch-up schedule exists for the series, it is used for planning and a series-specific hyperlink to CDC guidance is provided.
- Invalid dose alert. A dose in this series was evaluated as invalid and should be confirmed before administering this dose.
Forecast Group: Future
This group lists the next dose for any incomplete series due in the future. Doses are listed in chronological order by due date and grouped by year. A due before date, when available, will also be displayed.
Note that only the immediate next dose for each series is displayed, and future doses for series listed in the Recommended group (due now) will not display a future dose.

- Year due.
- Due date. This is the earliest forecast date for the dose. For some vaccines, the absolute earliest valid administration date is four days earlier (grace period). Refer to CDC guidance on timing and spacing of immunobiologics for details.
- Administer before date. When provided, this is date at which the dose will be considered past due. After this date, further recommendations for the series will follow the catch-up schedule, if applicable to the series.
Forecast Group: Conditional
This group lists vaccines that are conditionally recommended based on circumstance such as high-risk as well as shared decision-making recommendations. The conditional recommendations in this section are considered higher priority than those in the Not Recommended section.

- Recommendation description. This text provides a description of the type of recommendation.
- Badges. Badging is provided to optimize for attention, i.e. to allow for a quick review of the list to assist in determining if further reading/review is needed.
Forecast Group: Not Recommended
This section lists completed series or series for which the patient has aged-out. Lower-priority conditional recommendations are also displayed here.

- Recommendation description. This text provides a description of the reason the vaccine is not recommended or why it may be considered for certain circumstances.
