Where is this project taking place?
The practice setting for the project is a large, national primary care organization, which is described in more detail here. Because this is an academic project, the organization has not been asked for permission to use its name in project-related publications, including this website.
Who is eligible to participate in the project?
Any providers from the practice setting who provide immunization-related care to patients under the age of 19 are eligible, even if pediatric patients only account for a small percentage of their panel. Nurse Practitioners, Physicians, and Physician Assistants are eligible to participate.
What is required of participants?
Participants are required to complete training which consists of a ~10 minute video and very brief post-training survey. Upon completion of participation, they will be asked to complete an anonymous survey that takes no more than 10 minutes.
Is Smart Shots a commerical product?
While the project software may be made available to the open source community at the culmination of the project, there are no plans to monetize it project. The Smart Shots report and the software used to integrate with Immunization Calculation Engine (ICE) were developed by Joe Brusatto as part of his Doctor of Nursing practice scholarly project.
